Thank you for tuning in this week. What an explosive episode! The Quad/Mariah saga is never ending. This week’s episode was very revealing and I feel so many people are saying the same thing about how someone treated them. Can everyone be telling a lie, Quad, Brian Lamar and Reco? The truth always comes out in the end so keep watching.

Today, my aimin this blog however is not to state who is right or wrong but rather inspire anyone reading this blog to explore what it means to “own your truth.” I stated I wanted Mariah to own her truth last week and some thought it was a jab but it absolutely was NOT. In my mind, it was a word of encouragement. I believe if more people have the courage to go deep with themselves and get to the place where their inner pain lies, they can acknowledge what is really going on with them and then the healing process can begin. Always remember “A person can never fully experience the blessings of their future, until they release the pains of their past.” In this circle of friends, everyoneshould stand in their truth and take ownership of mistakes they have made so that healing can begin and lead to more genuine and authentic relationships. Unfortunately, some times in this circle things go from positive to negative so quickly because built up pain is unleashed and the actions that happen next get multiplied 10 fold. We saw that when Mariah and Quad blew up in the tranquility suite at WEN (www.wenwomensconference.info) and now when Reco explodes at the fashion show. Surely Mariah having a bodyguard didn’t create that reaction but rather compounded emotions Reco was feeling about the situation with Mariah came out as intense anger. Remember what I said at WEN, when people are sad many times they express themselves as MAD. Also hurt people…hurt people! Reco and Mariah you have a long history together. You really need to find a way to communicate and work through the pain and disappointment. Walking away from the friendship is the easy way out…find the strength to go deep with yourselves and figure out where the source of the pain and disappointment really stems from. It’s quite evident that the issue is bigger than what meets the eye.

I feel bad for BrianLamar too. Sometimes family can be the one’s who disappoint you the most when you are in pursuit of your dreams. Brian I think that YOU and no one else is the reason you are successful in your career. Keep your head up and keep shining. What God has for you, no one can take away. In my industry we call people who try to kill your dreams, “Dream Stealers.” I always tell people to eliminate toxic people in your life. Love them from a distance if they are family and create success for your self despite them.

Quad did her thing in the fashion show. She was the showstopper and was “fierce” on the catwalk. She shut it down. Congrats to Raphael Cox, a talented Atlanta designer for putting on a successful fashion show and fundraiser. I’m sorry it got a little crazy with Reco and Mariah’s argument. My heart went out to you because I know you put a lot of hard work into the event. However, despite everything, it was still a great event.

As always, I really enjoy watching the friendship between Simone and Jackie. Two beautiful women, who care about and respect each other deeply. Thank you for your awesome example of friendship. Simone, as for your financial woes…keep your head up. This storm to shall pass. With a supportive husband and great friends who have your back, you will be fine.

This week’s episode was truly eye opening. We now have a better understanding of why Mariah and Quad are at odds, we also get to hear right from Mariah’s mouth what she think’s about Quad, Heavenly reveals to us all her opinions about our marriages and Jackie is getting somewhat of an idea of what it is going to be like to have a baby. Like I said this episode is a real EYE OPENER.

FACTS REVEALED…

Fact 1: Why Are Mariah and Quad at odds with one another?

We open with Mariah continuing to state that Quad is doing “shows for the people”. Hmmh I wonder if showing up late to the fashion show, with a body guard and entourage and making a huge scene with Reco Chapple also counts as “doing shows.” Quad reveals that Mariah tried to buy her off the cover of a magazine. At the fashion show Mariah denied this accusation. I don’t know what the truth is but what I do know is that one of my former employees worked for that magazine and he did tell ME that Mariah and Quad were both suppose to be on the cover of the magazine and Mariah didn’t want that and tried to persuade the editor to just make it a cover with her. I still don’t know the whole truth but if I had to guess, the real truth lies somewhere in the middle. So there you have it…Mariah and Quad are at odds because Quad feels Mariah didn’t have her back last season, Mariah told everyone she made Quad relevant, she tried to buy Quad off the cover of a magazine, and when they tried to come together and talk about it, it all ended as a big blow up and altercation at STK. Finally, the pieces are coming together. I know it’s been hard to follow for the viewers because it’s definitely been hard for me as a person in the circle of friends to understand. But now it makes more sense why Quad feels so hurt. Mariah if you just own a little piece of this, the healing could perhaps begin. Quad just wants the TRUTH. Just be honest about your statements. Here’s what I know, the truth always comes out in the end. There’s definitely more to come with Mariah and other cast members so keep watching.

Mariah is so passionate that she was a good friend to Quad. Sometimes I really want to believe her because she is so convincing but then her other personality shows up and she says exactly how she feels. “I taught Quad how to be a good wife. Quad and I are NOT cut from the same cloth. We didn’t come from the same type of home. I lowered myself a few levels to make Quad feel we are equal. We are not equal. We do not share the same moral fiber.”

In the words of Mariah Huq…..”Girl that’s deep. So that’s how you really feel.”
If that’s what it means to be loving and caring to a friend, who needs enemies. I would say thisrelationship was more like a frenemy.

A frenemy is a “friend” and “enemy” that can refer to either an enemy pretending to be a friend or someone who really is a friend but also a rival.

In my opinion real friends don’t feel they are above one another. Friends do things to help each other out without expecting anything in return and definitely without hanging it over the head of the other friend and then throwing it back in their face.

I definitely think that Simone and Jackie should offer Quad and Mariah some lessons on friendship. Maybe Jackie and Simone should write a book on “How to have authentic and genuine friendships.” I love watching their friendship. This week Simone brings Jackie a crying baby. For the first time, it looked like Jackie didn’t quite know what to do. Really Jackie, you are going to sit Jackson in a chair in your office to calm him down. What will you do when he falls right out the chair and busts his head on the floor? Wrong move! Hang in there…with a little practice, those maternal instincts will kick in.

On a side note, Mariah said “A dog who will carry a bone…will take a bone.” That phrase was a new one to me. I’ll be honest, I had to have Marveale translate the meaning of that one. “Sometimes I feel like I need a course in “Married To Medicine” language and a “Married to Medicine” dictionary. #Imjustsaying

Fact 2: What is Heavenly’s opinion of all our marriages?

Heavenly was very nice to host all the ladies for dinner. If I had a report card for the dinner, Heavenly got an A for the menu and food. It was delicious. She also got an A for the lovely atmosphere. Her home is beautiful and when we initially arrived she was a gracious host. But perhaps there was something in the wine because in the area of Manners she got an F. Like I said in my earlier blogs, you never know what’s going to come out of Heavenly’s mouth. In one sentence Heavenly insulted every lady at the table. She told Simone she didn’t know how to submit to her husband, she told Toya she spends all her husband’s money, and she told Jackie and I, we didn’t respect our husbands since we didn’t take their last names. What the hell? Since when is it appropriate to insult your dinner guests. Heavenly my friend, I have the perfect gift for you….an etiquette and manners class. Heavenly is so crazy. I almost fell out my chair when she insulted Toya about not being able to close on her mortgage. Heavenly thinks she is an expert on every damn thing. What are we going to do with Dr. Heavenly?

Fact 3: Is Jackie really ready for a baby?

Simone gave Jackie a baby this week, Little Jackson. I think this a great gift to see if Jackie is really ready for a baby. She left the baby in the car when she went to work, she rocked him in the office chair to calm him down, and she wants to take his batteries out…Not a good sign but I’m still going to put my money on “Jackie is going to be an amazing mother.” Let’s see over the next few weeks if Jackie adapts to little Jackson with more appropriate maternal instincts. What is your best motherly advice for Jackie when little Jackson cries?

Let me first tell all the mothers watching, Happy Mother’s Day, I hope you enjoyed your special day. Thanks for tuning in once again to Married to Medicine. This week’s episode was full of Real Women, Real Issues, Real Life Drama.

Tonight we open with Quad and Mariah going at it in the tranquility suite. It was crazy. “Calgon take Me Away!” I was so worried that women in their trying to relax would be offended but luckily only a few were in there at the time and most women at the conference never knew what happened between the ladies. But at the moment the tranquility suite definitely became the toxicity suite. I really hate that Quad and Mariah are having such challenges with their friendship. The pain runs so deep with both of them. I believe that if Quad and Mariah really take time to hear the other person’s point of view they may be able to one day work through their differences. However, like I said this show is about Real Women, Real Issues, Real Life Drama! “Hurt People, Hurt People,” and that is exactly what is going on with Quad and Mariah!

On a positive note Toya and Simone make up. The words “I’m sorry” are so powerful. These two words can be so liberating and allow the healing process to begin. It warmed my heart to see them hug and tell each other how they were both really feeling. Afterall, that’s what the WEN conference is all about. So as we leave the tranquility suite we return back to the lunch panel discussion and Dr. Heavenly crashes my panel. Who does that? Like I said before Dr. Heavenly is unpredictable and her actions on this episode are exactly what I’m talking about. In case you didn’t see it in my face, I had no idea what she was about to say or do. At that given moment of course security was standing by and ready but I decided to “kill her with kindness” rather than go off and my intuition was right. Dr. Heavenly is really a nice person….a little crazy at times but a good person. She likes to stir the pot but at her core she does want the circle of friends to stay in tack, as do most of us.

In the end, my friends had a great experience at the WEN conference. I wish Mariah and Quad would kiss and make up but honestly speaking that’s going to take more than WEN….that’s going to take an act of God. So for now the circle of friends is more like a semi-circle and there is more to come of the Mariah/Quad saga so keep watching.

Next we see Jackie and Simone talking at Jackie’s office. Jackie writes Simone a prescription for “Shut Your Mouth” 3 times a day. Hilarious. I love the friendship between Jackie and Simone. They hold each other accountable for crazy behavior. That’s what real friends do. Real friends tell you what you need to hear, not what you want to hear. Simone definitely had a moment in the tranquility suite with Toya and she definitely needed that prescription.

Dr. Jackie, I am loving watching you this season. I appreciate how transparent you are being and how you are sharing with us how much you want a baby. This episode really made me realize how blessed I am to be a mother of two beautiful children. I think as women we sometimes take for granted the blessing of being able to have children. Jackie, Lisa is your prayer warrior and I’m going to pray you get that baby. Keep the faith and know it will happen if you just believe and like the lady from the agency said “It’s nurture not nature” that creates the connection between a mother and child. You are going to be an amazing mother!

Now, its time for me to face the music…and deal with these cysts. I can’t put it off any longer. Watching this episode made me realize how blessed I am to have a supportive husband and team that holds me up when I get weak and have challenges. Carolyn is more than an assistant; she is my friend and sister. And my husband, there are no words to describe how blessed I feel to have him as my life partner. He is my husband, best friend, protector and more. I was able to get through this because he was by my side encouraging and supporting me. I am so thankful that the outcome was NO CANCER, JUST CYCSTS. Thank God. God answers prayers. What a relief! Life is precious. At any moment, things change without notice. Embrace life and live it to the fullest because TOMORROW is not promised. Live, Love, Laugh and Enjoy Life!

We close out this week with Quad and Recco at the fabric store. Quad is seeing that fashion design is not always so glamorous. It’s important to get in the trenches and learn every aspect of building a clothing line. Quad is doing just that and I believe her puppy couture line is going to do very well. She is turning her passion into profits and that makes entrepreneurship even more fulfilling. What a surprise, Quad and Recco disclose that Mariah is renting her house. How interesting! Why would a “millionaire business women” rent her house?

Well whatever the case, Mariah rented or not, the house is beautiful. You do have good taste but always remember, the truth shall set you free and a lot of this nonsense happening would be layed to rest if you would just own your “TRUTH“

Now for my thoughts about this week’s episode. This week was full of friendship, sisterhood and family. What a breath of fresh air from all the drama of the last few weeks.

Quad and I had a great visit to Glamour Paws. She is so passionate about her puppy couture line and I love it! I love helping people turn their passions into profits. Success is about chasing your passion not a paycheck. The money will come if you do what you love! I am excited to share my knowledge and experience with Quad. What I love about Quad, is that she takes action. She walks the walk and she talks the talk! Most importantly, she doesn’t care what anyone else thinks. Did you see how she checked Mickey when she laughed at her idea of a puppy couture line. In the words of the great Maya Angelou, “Success is liking yourself, liking what you do, and liking how you do it.”So what do you guys think…Don’t the pooches need to be fabulous too?

Next we get a glimpse of Mariah and her family. Family time is very special and I can appreciate anyone who values quality family time. However, in Mariah’s case her family seems to be the only ones’ who can tolerate her ridiculous behavior and attitude towards others. I appreciate the wisdom of Mariah’s little girl. Lauren said,“Mariah lives her life like a game of chess.” I am in complete agreement. I personally don’t think of Mariah as strategic. I think calculating and manipulative are better words to describe her. Mariah plays people like pawns in a game of chess. In the game of chess if the queen captures an opponent’s piece, her move is over. Let’s just say this season, Mariah has captured many of her friends “PEACE!” Mariah treats most of the ladies on the show as opponents. She is very competitive and extremely jealous and intimidated by the success of other women. That’s why she feels the need to force herself as the ”Queen B” on others. Let me give you a little piece of advice Mariah, Respect is EARNED…not given! When you force yourself on people, the natural reaction of a person is RESISTANCE! Well as the game of chess goes, once the “peace is gone”, the queen’s move is OVER and that may be the exact fate of the “self appointed Queen B” in this circle of friends. I really hope however, that Mariah recognizes how her actions impact people so that she becomes a part of the circle again. She really hurt Quad with her competitive and jealous nature. Quad was the “fan favorite” last season. Be happy for her success and popularity. “What God has for Quad, no one can take away. Not even “EP” Mariah Huq! Prayerfully, Mariah will grow and own her part in the breakdown of their friendship, so the healing process can begin.

Now on to Simone and Cecil. Simone girl I get it. Cash is tight and hubby still taking the trip with his boys. I think Darren and I might be having the same conversation if I was in your position. I get the guys needing a get away but not when money is tight! It’s called making a short term sacrifice for a long term gain! Anyhow, I love how Simone turned lemons into lemonade and used Cecil’s trip as a motivation to organize the girl’s pajama party. We had such a great time. There’s nothing like hanging out with the girls, having fun and NO DRAMA. As Quad said, “it was a drama free zone. “ Well almost a DRAMA FREE zone. We did have a little drama….did you see Quad pull up in her sexy lingerie? Can youimagine what would have happened if she had gotten pulled over and asked to get out the car? And the other bit of drama SIMONES FUNNY LOOKING PAJAMAS AND BORING SEX LIFE. Poor Cecil! But Quad and I are on a mission to help Ms. Simone in the area of pajama fashion and sex life innovation. Stay tuned for more on this chapter.

We next get a glimpse of Dr. Heavenly having some quality time with her daughter. I loved watching this scene. I want to give a special thanks to Dr. Heavenly for giving me the inspiration to do a “dream board night” with my children. It’s so important to put our dreams on paper. What you think about…you bring about! This holds true for adults and children. As my children watched the scene they were excited to do the same activity and have a “Family Dream Board night.” Great Job Heavenly! You have accomplished so much over the last year with your weight loss and the launch of Epitome Magazine and Dr. Heavenly University. Keep shining. Though you can be “UNPREDICTABLE,” with the ladies, you are an amazing mother, wife and businesswoman.

Next we get to see a vulnerable side to Dr. Jackie. Yes Jackie, it is ok to show your emotions and most importantly, it’s ok to cry. Those tears are cleansing. I think Curtis is a lucky man to be married to such a strong and passionate woman. You could never disappoint Curtis because you are such an amazing woman. Don’t give up on the idea of having a child. Keep talking through these emotions until Curtis realizes how important this is to you. “No doesn’t mean forever…it just means, NOT RIGHT NOW! God knew exactly what he was doing when he created an earth angel named Dr. Jackie. Thank you for your friendship and support during this season of my life. Your strength inspires me and gives me the courage to face whatever comes next. Your 50 Shades of Pink luncheon was exactly what I needed. Many women have survived Cancer and by being in the presence of these champions, I am confident I too will be OK.

In closing, I want to comment on the scene with Darren and I. Watching this scene I am reminded how important it is to keep things in perspective. Our priority in our family is God, Family and then career. I thank God for my husband. He is probably one of the only people who understands what to say to slow me down. He is the head of our family and when he talks, as much as I try to fight it, I LISTEN! I do want to be here for my children and my husband. So stay tuned as this journey unfolds.

If you change what you say, you can change your life’s outcome. Take out your goals list and begin to declare your success. Always speak in the present tense, like it is already happening. Keep saying it until you believe what you are saying in your heart and mind. I challenge you to go through the exercise of putting your dream board together.

4.Successful people invest in their success.

Successful people are not cheap. They understand that the best information is not free, but that it comes with a price. They recognize that they are worth the investment, and they make it happen. Wealthy people don’t ask how much something cost, they ask how much will the investment make me. To continue achieving the new levels of success, you must continue investing in information and resources to elevate your income and status. People who are at the top of their their fields, invest in books, dvd/cd tools, conferences, seminars and other resources to expand their knowledge, ignite creativity and up-level their income. You can spend one day in a workshop and learn what someone may have taken years to develop and perfect. Listing your life daily will bring about solutions and help you keep an orderly state of mind, so that creativity can abound. Your pen and paper can empower you to progress. Keep a journal and record your thoughts and ideas in it daily. Plan out every aspect of your life on paper. Writing is a powerful solution for success that you can practice daily. 6.Successful people pay attention to their money.

They know that money likes attention! Media mogul Ted Turner put it simply, “Life is a game. Money is how we keep score.” What you focus on, you will attract. Adopt the mentality that making money is easy. Allow yourself to believe it. People become millionaires every day—why not you? You must be a millionaire in your mind before you ever see the funds in your bank account. I believe that we are all created with an innate ability to prosper. When you give attention to your money, you will find ways to make more of it. Focus on increase and not on lack. You have something to offer the world that no one else has. Jut beyond your comfort zone is the life of your dreams! You must lose your love for being comfortable if you want to reach your goals. Comfort is an enemy of success because it lulls you into complacency. The best way to stretch yourself and get uncomfortable is to take action. To get what you’ve never had, you must do what you’ve never done. Do something every day toward your goals. What can you do for 30 minutes every day that would put you ahead of the game? Great success takes great effort—but the rewards will be far greater than you can ever imagine! Today, write down three ways you can build success actions into your daily routine.

As I watch the Quad/Mariah saga unfold…It’s very sad. It’s too bad two good friends cant figure out a way to work through their differences. The incident at STK is quite embarrassing. I don’t believe in public displays of emotion. Ladies, can we keep this in a private setting vs. a public setting. We are doctor’s wives.As per all the blogs and talk around the A-Town, Mariah once again, disregarded the idea that we should keep our hands to ourself. Mariah did you not learn your lesson from last season…Please no more fights.

Quad I’ve told you this before…”Right when you are about to be blessed and step into your destiny, the devil gets busy creating distractions. Stay focused on your dreams. Your puppy couture line is going to be amazing. As for Dr. G, knowing your love language…girl I got one too who forget s my love language but I love him all the same.

Jackie I love watching Sexy Jackie come out. Try that number on Curtis to get your baby. “Hi I’m Dr. Jackie, …call me 911.” Jackie looked Hot in in the Lisa Nicole Onyx Collection. Toya is a great mom. I love how she is so focused on her kids. I too love over the top kids parties. They only turn 2 once, so I loved the party. And in answer to Dr. Heavenly’s comment, I think your son will remember the birthday party because my daughter still talks about her birthday when she turned 2. Now on another note, while it was a great party I do however, agree with your parent’s advice. Slow down on the spending. It’s not about how you make…it’s about how much you keep. Be careful with all the spending….Don’t be a spendarella; Like your mom said financial problems in a marriage are the number 1 cause of divorce…..We definitely don’t want to see that happen. You and Eugene are a great couple.

Dr. Heavenly you sure know how to stir the pot, “Once again Dr. Jackie comes in thinking she is better….” Where did you get that from Heavenly? . Jackie’s apology seemed sincere to me. Even Ms. Georgia Plus accepted her apology. Then your comments about Toya’s baby’s birthday, “If you don’t invest in an account for them now, then they are going to need an EBT card…. Can you say, “What the hell”….You are so unpredictable…

Why Start Small?

1) It encourages you to get started. When things are too massive, simple exercises can become overwhelming. When you accomplish a small step, you provide yourself with the encouragement needed to take the next steps. People at the top of their professions aren’t necessarily brilliant; they’re extraordinarily dedicated to being consistent in their thoughts and actions. They are focused. Focus stands for Follow One Course of Action Until Successful.

2) It allows you to prioritize and concentrate. When ideas are big and vast, it’s easy to get distracted in all the details. “Paralysis of Analysis” can set in. This is the state of being when a person is so busy collecting knowledge and data that they never get to the stage of actually taking action. The human mind can only handle so much information at one time. If you have twelve top priorities competing for your attention, then you’re unlikely to make significant progress on any of them.

3) It provides the necessary steps to reach the next level. Starting small qualifies you for bigger and better things. If you can’t successfully lead one person, who is going to trust you with an entire division? Don’t despise the smallness of the necessary tasks in front of you. You never know where they’ll lead.

1. You Never Know Until You Try
If you never put yourself out there by taking a jab at your ideas and dreams then you will never know whether they could have worked or not. The ultimate failure is not having an idea take shape because you are too afraid to try.

2. Failure Gets You Closer To Your Goals
Every failure should make you stronger and more resilient. If you learn nothing else from a failed venture then you should at least walk away from each situation knowing what NOT to do the next time. Your goals are more attainable once you become aware of the pitfalls that lay ahead.

3. You Are Not Alone
Anyone who has ever stepped outside of their comfort zone knows that learning curves are inevitable. Some of the most successful people in the world have failed at something at some point or another. You are not the first person to have a rocky start, a failed idea or a business flop. The great part about realizing that you are not alone is knowing that there is always room to pick up the pieces. The most important lesson you can learn from others who have gone before you is that giving up is not an option. It’s ok to re-evaluate but by all means, never give up!
